CygNet Scripting
CygNet Software currently supports two Application Programming Interfaces (API). These automation libraries facilitate data retrieval, display and manipulation of the CygNet system via script:
- COM API — These objects comprise several Cx* programs called automation tools or automation libraries. Most of the customer-facing COM objects are documented in the CygNet COM API topics.
- .NET API — The .NET API assemblies provide programmatic access to CygNet services, clients, and other related entities. Known colloquially as the CygNet.API. These assemblies also include .NET assemblies that are COM visible. Microsoft .NET Framework must be installed on the host machine when the scripts are running, in accordance with the CygNet system requirements. See CygNet .NET API for more information. See the CygNet System Requirements document for more information.
Scripting can be used to customize CygNet Software installations, and to help accomplish specific advanced requirements such as complex data analysis or custom interface design. Information provided to support scripting in CygNet Software includes a set of scripting reference libraries, utilizing standard scripting conventions and examples, and the CygNet Point Script Copy utility.
See CygNet Scripting Guide for an in-depth discussion of scripting environments and creating scripts in CygNet Software.
CygNet Point Script Copy Utility
CygNet Software provides a utility for uploading and downloading scripts to and from points, and for copying scripts from point to point.
See CygNet Point Script Copy Utility for more information.
To address questions or circumstances beyond the scope of the CygNet Help, Additional CygNet Resources are available.
Training courses specific to CygNet configuration and administration are offered periodically. Contact CygNet Training for more information.
